Paedophille Shoots Girl Dead, Injures 2 More Children in Orphanage in Bulgaria

A man killed a 15-year-old orphan and injured two more children before turning the rifle to himself in a shooting in Bulgaria's western town of Tran on Wednesday.

The shooter, Assen Iliev, 67, who had a criminal record over pedophilia accusations. He was sentenced for raping a child, who lived in the same orphanage in the 90s.

The victim, identified as Lilyana Todorova, testified in one of the legal procedures, brought against her killer over fornication with one of the other children, injured in the incident - Klara, 15.

The condition of Klara and Emil, 12, who were also shot at by the 67-year-old man, is stable, doctors reported.

The killer was also in conflict with Nikola Dinev, a former teacher in the home, who had also been put behind bars over pedophilia charges.

After an investigation of Darik proved his guilt, Dinev had been dismissed.

In the framework of the same investigation, children from the orphanage told reporters Assen Iliev offered them money to have sex with him.
